Upper School Latin students from The Baldwin School took the 2024 National Latin Exam and won several awards. Over 100,000 students from 50 states, the District of Columbia and 26 foreign countries participated in the 44th year of this competition. Twenty-seven Baldwin students took the exam and nineteen students earned awards.
Philadelphia Classical Society (PCS) Academic and Project Competitions - 2024
A number of Baldwin students have been named winners in the 85th annual PCS academic and project competitions. The awards luncheon was held on April 27 at The Drexelbrook in Drexel Hill, PA. In-person judging of traditional artistry was held at the Haverford School; judging of digital entries were judged virtually.
Six of Baldwin’s entries were selected as “Best of Category” submissions from the 22 participating schools: Aubyn Mackey ’24 for her needlework entry (second year); Caroline Fenton ’25 for her digital art submission; Ellie Shin ’25 for her digital art entry; Brooke Woo ’25 for her English poetry submission; Sophie Kalish-Schur ’27 for a remarkable mosaic; and Hanne Li ’27 for her digital art submission. In addition, 8th grader Ipek Ergin’s t-shirt design was selected as the 2024 Dr. Lynn Ennis Iozzo T-Shirt Design Competition. She is one of the youngest award winners to achieve this honor.
